Bathroom Tile Tips

When it comes to creating the perfect bathroom, tiles are one of the key considerations. The variety of tiles is almost endless compared to back in the day, and more and more people are looking at them as a design feature or statement piece instead of a functional product.

From classic subway and mosaic tile patterns to hexagon and square tiles, these are all things to consider when choosing the right tiles for your bathroom. We are spoilt for choice, but its important to be mindful of choosing a tile that suits your space, in size, texture and colour.

The illusion of space

If you’re interested in making your bathroom look that little bit bigger, hexagon tiles are great for this, making the room appear more open. Hexagon tiles especially, are becoming more popular as they add character and are extremely versatile in terms of design.

Large vs small tiles

A small bathroom can benefit from a large tile. With few grout lines, the walls and floor are less cluttered and they visually make the room appear bigger. Small bathroom tiles with heavy patterns can sometimes create a busy feel, however sticking to light colours can help to avoid this.

Considering colour

The colour of your tiles can really enhance a small bathroom. Using neutral bathroom tiles such as white, cream and light grey, as well as monochrome colour schemes will provide the illusion of more space, allowing light to be reflected around the room.

Not only do we need to think about the style and shape, but using your bathroom’s other built-in design elements, such as vanity cabinets, sinks and the wall mirrors can enhance your chosen tile pattern.

If you’ve got round to thinking about decorating the bathroom, 3Flo can help design and install the perfect tiles to suit you.
